EMMA HELENE NICHOLS

BIOGRAPHY
Emma Nichols, soprano, received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance at Oregon State University in June 2026. Her love of singing has inspired her musical training since age eight, and she currently studies with soprano Amy Hansen. Highlights of her emerging career explore many genres, including roles as Brianna/Rosina in Mozart's A Novel Strategy (La finta semplice), Laetitia in The Old Maid and the Thief, Despina in Così fan tutte, Laurie in The Tender Land, Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, Brenda Strong in Catch Me If You Can, Shelby Thorpe in The Spitfire Grill, as well as swing roles as Sophie and Lisa in Mamma Mia!, Maria in West Side Story, and Belle in Beauty and the Beast.
Emma was recently featured on All Classical Radio's program, Thursdays @ Three. She was also a national semi-finalist in the College Musical Theatre category at the Classical Singer Competition, as well as a 2024 winner and regional finalist in the Musical Theatre Northwest Region for Lower College Treble for NATS. She was a finalist in the Portland Chamber Orchestra Young Artist Competition and has advanced in the Classical Singers Competition in both the Musical Theatre and Classical categories.
In addition to her love of music and singing, Emma is fluent in the French language and taught English while living in Bordeaux, France. She is also a TOUR Ambassador for Oregon State and was a DJ on the university's KBVR 88.7 FM network. She aspires to use her voice to inspire audiences in every way she can.
